Edwardian Lunch at Waverley Place
Join us this summer for a taste of the Edwardian era. Surrounded by the beautiful museum gardens, enjoy a delightful luncheon on the veranda of historic “Waverley Place” (Bowmanville Museum), 37 Silver Street. Every Wednesday and Saturday of the summer, beginning July 7th and ending Saturday, August 28th, we will be serving a light lunch menu, including soups, quiche, scones, and sweets, that is sure to satisfy. Teas are served from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. Our charming staff, dressed in period costumes, will be pleased to serve you. This is a delightful alternative to the usual business or social gathering. After tea, enjoy a self-guided tour of our period home, “Waverly Place”, and immerse yourself in the riches and everyday rituals of the past. Or stroll along the brick pathways winding through our newly-revitalized gardens. Reservations are recommended and gift certificates are available in any one of our museum gift shops.
Girl Guides
Join us to view 100 years of the history of Guiding and learn more about this popular, long standing movement. Try your hand at difficult knotting techniques and play a game of survival. See how the uniforms and program have changed over the years. Whether you are a seasoned Guider, familiar with the Guiding Movement, or someone just wanting to learn more, visit Clarington Museums and Archives to learn, play and grow.
Day and evening tours are available for booking and the museum is open to the public every day 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
